ORGANIC DOP “MEJILLÓN DE GALICIA” MUSSELS
Grown in the rich waters of the Galician loughs, the organic DOP “Mejillón de Galicia” mussels from Palacio de Oriente are reared in “bateas” or cultivation rafts made with raw materials sourced responsibly from the environment. This is done in the way dictated by the Consello Regulador de Agricultura Ecológica of Galicia, the body responsible for regulating sustainable agriculture.
Organic DOP “Mejillón de Galicia” mussels in organic pickled sauce
Once the mussels have achieved the right size, the Mylitus galloprovincialis undergo an exhaustive cleaning process. Afterwards, they are cooked and the shells are removed. Lastly, they go through a dehydration technique to eliminate all the water they did not discharge while they were cooking. This is the best way to guarantee our sauce maintains its intense flavor.
The organic DOP “Mejillón de Galicia” mussels, which come from sustainable cultivation, are canned carefully and covered with our own organic pickled sauce: its recipe includes vinegar, salt and olive oil from sustainable agriculture, certified by the regulating body, the Consello Regulador de Agricultura Ecológica.
