Healthy and with few calories, the octopus (Octopus vulgaris) is a highly recommended food item for a balanced diet. Its content of vitamins and minerals helps to improve the immune system, to prevent cardiovascular illnesses and to reinforce your defenses.

Squid (Dosidicus gigas), on its part, is the most demanded cephalopod in haute cuisine. It is rich in phosphorus and potassium, as well as being an excellent source of protein. The same nutritional values can be found in a smaller variety of the same mollusc species, known as the chipirón, which has a more intense flavor, despite its reduced size.

The production of Palacio de Oriente’s canned octopus begins with its capture, one by one, in the ocean’s rocky areas with slightly warmer water. The key to attain a delicate and succulent bite is to cook the product correctly and to freeze it beforehand, a necessary step to break the fibers and achieve the desired texture.

Our canned squid is made with molluscs caught using sustainable fishing techniques in the best fisheries of the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans. After a thorough cleaning process, the squid are cooked following Palacio de Oriente’s traditional recipes.
